Desde el 24 de octubre del 2010 hasta el 28 de febrero 2011 tiene lugar la octava edición de la Bienal de Shanghai. Entre los artistas participantes se encuentra el trabajo de Carlos Garaicoa.

Bunga reflexiona sobre la idea de monumento combinando sus habituales materiales de carácter frágil con la pureza y fuerza del mármol de Carrara. La preocupación constante del artista por el proceso de deterioro y transformación de la arquitectura y su espacio urbano se materializa en una vinculación directa a la ciudad de Carrara que sufre actualmente una situación de abandono.
